11AM-5PM SATURDAY 9 MAY 2026
The Broadway, Winchester – March starts at 2pm

Formerly known as Hampshire Pride, the city’s Pride festival is back on Saturday 9th May as Winchester Pride, with a renewed focus on the Winchester community. The day is all about celebrating our diverse community, promoting equity and calling for an end to the bigotry and prejudice that affects LGBTQ+ people everywhere.

What’s On

FROM 11AM COMMUNITY MARKET PLACE
Pick up an ice cream or a flag to wave on the march! We’re also joined by a small number of local charitable organisations. Find out more about the amazing work they’re doing and the services available locally.

2PM THE MARCH
Get ready to make some noise! We’ll be assembling in front of the steps of the Guildhall to hear a few words from the Mayor of Winchester, Cllr Sudhakar Achwal. He’ll lead the march around the city with Winchester MP Danny Chambers.

FROM 11AM ENTERTAINMENT
Thank you to the fabulous local acts, including Misty Lee, the Solent Gay Men’s Chorus, Swan Samba and the Shakespeare Club, who have all been so generous in helping us get Winchester Pride off the ground this year!

Things To Know

WHAT TO WEAR
Express yourself as colourfully and loudly as you like but please remember that it’s a family-friendly event. You’ll need to check the weather too. At the moment we’re expecting some drizzle so you might want to bring a colourful umbrella with you!

PHOTOGRAPHY
We will have an official photographer and Winchester BID’s videographer present on the day. Their content will be used to promote the festival and the city’s programme of events in the future. If you do not wish your image to be used please let them know directly.

RESPECTFUL PROTEST
Pride is a protest and we want to bring attention to the issues facing LGBTQ+ people but without causing major disruption to the wider community.
